| Celebrating a half century of service on the Main Line 50 years ago, John Kazanjian embarked on a challenge of owning his own business in Villanova. Villanova in the early 50's was quite different then. The pace of life and economic challenges were not easy to overcome, but John Kazanjian's perseverance, service, honesty and hardwork; principles which he installed in his sons Sarkis and Azad helped him expand his business rapidly. John Kazanjian developed a keen sense of appreciation for fine antique carpets. This passion eventually translated into one of the largest privately held collections of antique carpets in Pennsylvania. Although John Kazanjian claims he is semi-retired, his son Azad Kazanjian, full of energy, wants to carry on the family tradition at John's original store where it all began nearly a half century ago. Azad, a 1997 graduate of Radnor High School and a 2001 graduate of Widener University, talks passionately about the future of his business. "I am dedicated in growing my father's business and establishing new standards in which customers shop at our galleries with confidence. I think what contributed to my father's success in such a compettitive business is his integrity and consistency in providing the customers with what they wanted". The gallery features a wide variety of unique rugs from Persia, Armenia, the Caucasus, India, Pakistan, Tibet and China. From time to time Azad plans to exhibit some of the rare carpets from his father's collection for public viewing. It is note worthy that Charles Parks, an internationally known scupltor selected Kazanjian Gallery to feature some of his best works exclusively on the Main Line.
